Future Leaders Voices: Ania Jezewska

Looking back, what impact did the Future Leaders programme have on you personally and professionally? Did it change anything about how you see yourself in the music or events industries?

The Future Leaders programme has had a huge impact on my confidence and helped me realise that my voice genuinely matters. It’s made me more aware of my access needs and given me the confidence to talk about them openly. Being part of the programme also connected me with an amazing community of professionals who share similar experiences around access and inclusion. It helped me understand that I have the right to request adjustments for my health conditions, and that advocating for myself is both valid and necessary.

What were the most valuable things you gained from being part of Future Leaders?

I gained a mixture of practical skills and personal growth. The most valuable things were:

  • More confidence in my ideas and in using my voice
  • A supportive network of people who inspire and encourage me
  • Access to new opportunities and professionals I wouldn’t have reached on my own
  • Structure and guidance to help me plan my career more clearly
  • A real sense of belonging, and knowing I’m part of a community that supports me

What significant things have happened in your career since taking part?

Since completing the programme, several significant things have happened in my career:

  • I volunteered at Glastonbury Festival as an Access Steward, and became part of an amazing access-focused community
  • I’ve taken on Wellness Manager roles at events, including the United Nations International Day of Peacekeepers, and Frome Pride Youth
  • I’ve built stronger industry relationships, which have opened up new opportunities and pathways
  • I’ve had important personal breakthroughs; becoming more confident, ambitious and clear about my goals.

Overall, I’ve made real progress, and I credit much of it to the confidence and skills I developed through Future Leaders.

What would you say to someone thinking of applying to Future Leaders?

I would tell them to go for it. Even if you’re unsure about your goals, Future Leaders is a truly life-changing experience, and I’m so grateful I applied. The programme offers great opportunities—mentoring, work experience, training—and it also introduces you to an amazing network of inspiring people. Even after graduating and as my career goals have evolved, I’m still in touch with the people I met, and I know they’re there if I need advice or support. Everyone involved is friendly, supportive, and kind. Being a Future Leader is one of my proudest achievements, and it has genuinely changed my life for the better.
