Looking back, what impact did the Future Leaders programme have on you personally and professionally? Did it change anything about how you see yourself in the music or events industries?
The Future Leaders programme had a big impact on me, both personally and professionally. It helped me grow my confidence and knowledge as an access professional. The programme kickstarted my career and gave me so many tools to navigate the industry, and I’m really thankful to have been part of it.
What were the most valuable things you gained from being part of Future Leaders?
The programme gave me so many opportunities to learn and grow. I took part in the Disability Equality for the Live Events Industry course at Falmouth University, and I had the opportunity to attend roundtables for the Live Events Access Charter review back in 2023. Working with my mentor helped me to understand how I work best as a disabled person and gave me the confidence to put that knowledge into practice and ask for what I need.
What significant things have happened in your career since taking part?
As part of my time on the Future Leaders programme, I joined the Attitude is Everything team as Skills Development Intern. I’ve consistently built on that work since, and I now work full time at Attitude is Everything as Artist Engagement and Charter Systems Coordinator.
What would you say to someone thinking of applying to Future Leaders?
I would say to just apply! You never know where this opportunity will take you.
