PPL backs Attitude is Everything in launching creative collective

Applications have now closed

PPL, the UK’s music licensing company for performers and recording rightsholders, has awarded funding to Attitude is Everything to support the charity in establishing a creative collective.

The creative collective will work with six deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists across Manchester and Birmingham aged over 25 to explore the recording and promotion process of releasing new music.

Project outcomes will include:

  • Producing and releasing a six-track mixtape
  • Showcasing the final mixtape
  • Mentor session for the six participants from established artists
  • Artist diaries of their experiences of access barriers
  • Royalty points on the mixtape
  • Up to 20 hours studio time working on your track
  • A £200 access stipend

Why is this project important?

The Musicians’ Census (conducted by the Musicians’ Union and Help Musicians in 2023) identified a £4000 pay gap between disparities with Disabled musicians and non-disabled peers.

Social and physical barriers to music production need to be addressed to reduce the barriers to income generation activities.

How can I get involved?
