This group was created in 2019 in response to our Next Stage Artist Snapshot, which highlighted barriers artists were facing when seeking to apply for funding.
Areas of focus
This group covers how to build accessible practices into all areas of a talent development process:
- Formating accessible application forms
- Writing accessible application questions
- Offering alternative ways for artists to apply/pitch themselves
- How to provide access support for someone completing an application
- How to reach and work with Deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists
- Talking up your access options online and on social media
- Recognising and removing the barriers artists may face when working with you
- Considering intersectionality and how experiences of disability may vary

We now welcome all types of talent development organisations to join this group. Although this group began as a space for funders, we are now keen to connect with initiatives and talent development platforms who also offer non-financial opportunities to artists.
